According to The Nation Thailand, on Thursday, March 16, the Thai government approved a draft extradition treaty between the kingdom and Russia.
Thai government spokeswoman Rachada Dhnadirek said the treaty will help strengthen cooperation against crime and will be in line with extradition agreements signed with other countries. In addition, Dhnadirek added that this document will not require parliamentary approval, as it does not concern the territory, economy, society, trade and investment.
At the end of February, the Al Jazeera TV channel reported that more than 233,000 Russian citizens arrived in Phuket from November 2022 to January 2023. According to the report, citizens of the Russian Federation come to the kingdom to avoid being drafted into the army.
