Tesla sales slowed in the third quarter – Kommersant

American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla reportedthat in the third quarter the company produced 430 thousand cars and sold 435 thousand. Year-on-year sales increased by 27%, but compared to the second quarter of this year they decreased by 6.7%.
Sales decline quarter-on-quarter became the company’s first in more than a year. Tesla sales were also lower in the third quarter forecasts analysts who expected sales of about 461 thousand cars.
The company itself explained the slowdown in sales by “previously planned interruptions in the operation of factories necessary for their reconfiguration.” Observers attribute these breaks to preparations for the start of sales of the new Cybertruck pickup truck. The company initially announced the start of sales for the third quarter, but they have not yet begun. However, judging by the fact that Tesla kept its forecast for production in 2023 at the same level – 1.8 million vehicles, experts suggest that sales of pickup trucks will still begin this year. The company will publish full financial statements for the third quarter on the evening of October 18 after the close of trading on the stock exchange.
