Lithuania raised 14 million euros for radars for the armed forces of Ukraine.
Fundraising was carried out during a telethon organized by the LRT television and radio company. It was broadcast live.
According to the organizers, they managed to raise money almost three times more than what was expected. Only in the last half an hour they transferred about five hundred thousand euros. Moreover, one of the corporate sponsors doubled this amount.
On the last day of the telethon, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda came to agitate for the help of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He stated that the struggle illustrates the strength and character of the Ukrainian people.
The cost of one radar is about 1 million euros. The timing of the acquisition and transfer of radars to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not reported.
