Telegraph: Western support for Ukraine is weakening
[ad_1]
Western support for Ukraine has begun to wane in recent months, with many questioning its necessity, writes Telegraph columnist Con Coughlin.
“From the perspective of the Ukrainian authorities, this sudden weakening of support from Western partners does not bode well for Kiev’s chances of success in the current conflict. It also raises the question: does the West really still want Ukraine to win?” – he wrote.
The article notes that one of the factors aggravating the situation was the supply of weapons at the beginning of the conflict. Despite initial support, they led to negative consequences, including prolongation of the conflict and damage to the interests of Ukraine.
At the moment, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced a cessation of supplies of equipment to Ukraine. Hungary is blocking a major military aid package worth €500 million, while anti-Ukrainian sentiment rises in Slovakia over the formation of a new government.
