The aircraft carrier is now located “at the wall” of the 35th ship repair plant (a branch of the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation). Completion and mooring tests are being carried out. As a result, the ship should receive a “completely new filling”, including a new deck with a springboard, a power plant, cable routes, a take-off and landing control system for carrier-based aircraft, and a navigation system. It is expected that the service life of the aircraft carrier will be extended by 20 years.
The cruiser has been under scheduled repairs since 2018, after returning from a campaign in the Mediterranean, where it took part in operations in Syria.
