TASS: in relation to Sobchak, they did not initiate a case about fakes about state power

The Investigative Committee refused to open a criminal case against Ksenia Sobchak, TASS reported. The police previously saw in her actions the spread of fakes about state power.

The Russian state agency refers to “a representative of law enforcement agencies. TASS does not mention either his name or the department in question. The interlocutor of the agency said that “the investigation issued a decision to refuse to initiate a criminal case.”

The issue of initiating a case against the journalist was considered in connection with the persecution of documentary filmmaker Vitaly Mansky, who was accused of libel after an interview with Mrs. Sobchak. At that time, TASS, also citing a “law enforcement agency representative,” reported that the police had sent a submission to the TFR to open a criminal case against the journalist.
