Szijjártó: Washington treats Hungary like an adversary

Hungarian Foreign and Economic Relations Minister Péter Szijjártó said the US government is positioning itself as an “unfriendly ally” towards his country and treating it like an adversary because Budapest is defending its national interests.
Szijjarto also stressed that Hungary does not strengthen ties with Russia, but continues dialogue and rational cooperation with Moscow in the energy sector, as this is necessary to ensure sufficient energy resources in the country. However, relations between Hungary and Russia were narrowed down to energy areas after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine.
Szijjártó also said that Hungary must be ready for serious pressure from the EU, as “Brussels and the liberal propaganda machine” indiscriminately uses all kinds of blackmail against Budapest.
