Hungarian Foreign Ministry: Szijjarto received information about the Wagner rebellion from ministers from Russia and Belarus
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Péter Szijjarto was aware of the course of the Wagner rebellion, receiving information directly from the Russian and Belarusian ministers.
“During the events, Minister Szijjarto was in contact with the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, the heads of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Belarusian Foreign Ministry,” the Hungarian Foreign Ministry noted. “That is, he had such reliable information about what was happening and what would happen.”
Hungary, as you know, did not recommend that its citizens leave Russia on June 24, as some foreign countries did.
The Hungarian Foreign Ministry recalled that “the rebellion ended in a short time, the Russian leadership is in its place.”
Szijjarto himself said earlier that on June 24 he received information about the events in Russia directly from Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, Russian and Belarusian Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Sergei Aleinik.
