The Kurdish alliance “Forces of Democratic Syria” (SDS) sent an appeal to Russian diplomats with a request to assist in reaching agreements between the alliance and the Syrian authorities to protect territories in the north-east of the republic.
“We are asking the Russian side to initiate an agreement on coordinating actions with Damascus to protect our territory,” SDF spokesman Aram Khana told Al-Hadas TV channel.
Earlier, the Kurds received an offer from Turkey, which was rejected. Recall that the Turkish army has been conducting air strikes on positions since November 20, occupied by fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. Attacks were made on the city of Kobani, as well as on targets in northern Iraq. At the same time, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan does not rule out that air strikes will be followed by a ground operation.
