In Switzerland, the head of the federal department for economic affairs, education and research, Guy Parmelin, said that in the country the right to property is fundamental and guaranteed primarily by the constitution.
“It is impossible to confiscate money from one country (from individuals from this country) in order to transfer it to another state within the framework of the current legislation,” the minister said in an interview with the Tribune de Genève newspaper.
So far, no country, including the United States, as Parmelin noted, has taken such a step. “Switzerland is a state of law,” he stressed. “We have an obligation to uphold our constitution.”
