Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the command post of a group of Russian troops performing tasks in Ukraine.
According to a press release from the Russian Defense Ministry, during the inspection, Shoigu heard a report from the commander of the Russian Joint Group of Forces in the area of the special military operation, General of the Army Sergei Surovikin.
Surovikin reported to the Minister of Defense on the fulfillment of combat missions in various operational areas of the Northern Military District, the nature of the enemy’s actions. He also reported on the provision of all types of allowances for those called up for military service as part of partial mobilization.
After that, Sergei Shoigu presented the Russian servicemen with the Gold Star medal of the Hero of the Russian Federation, the Order of Courage and other state awards. The Ministry of Defense noted that the awards were presented in pursuance of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s order “for courage and heroism.”
