During the SVO, Junior Sergeant Nikolai Pasenko ended up on the operating table. He had unexploded ammunition stuck in his chest.

Doctors, wearing body armor, performed a complex operation. The ammunition could detonate at any moment.

A team of military surgeons of the Central Military Clinical Hospital (TsVKG) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation named after P. V. Mandryk did this in a district clinic in the Belgorod region.

The ammunition pierced the soldier’s ribs, lungs and got stuck at the spine. It was found between the aorta and the inferior vena cava near the heart. The patient has now been transferred to Moscow.
