Jewelry chain Sunlight plans to launch a dating service in March. Functionally, it will be similar to a mixture of Tinder and TikTok, said Vedomosti representative of the company. The name for the service has not yet been chosen.
The service will be integrated into the Sunlight application. The company has already spent 120 million rubles on the development of the application as a whole. Her representative clarified that the amount includes the salaries of the developers of the entire application, and not just the dating service.
Now the application has a product catalog and support service. It also includes Play, an analogue of Instagram Reels (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned), which has videos about makeup and fitness. At the beginning of the year, the Sunlight Play platform passed the mark of 1 million views, according to the company.
According to the results of January-June 2022, the volume of the jewelry market increased only by 2%, amounting to 152 billion rubles, was calculated in Infoline. Sunlight became the leader in terms of sales among jewelry chains during the mentioned period (20.8 billion rubles, a decrease of 4.5% yoy).
