The Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) reported that the cost of summer holidays in Turkish hotels has decreased by 20%. As a result, sales from Russian tour operators increased several times.
“In our company, according to data for the first week of January, volumes were more than double last year’s level. This is due to good prices, as well as the fact that sales started earlier than last year, already in October,” said Pegas Tourist General Director Anna Podgornaya, whose words transmits PCT.
Tour operator Coral Travel reported that 98% of Turkish hotels have decided on prices for 2024: the cost of the package in euros has decreased by an average of 27%. Other operators also reported a reduction in prices for holidays in Turkey by 20% or more.
Director of the Infotour travel agency Roman Elagin linked the fall in prices with a decrease in demand in 2023. The cost of vacation then increased due to price increases by hoteliers and the weakening of the euro, which “scared tourists.”
