Military expert Alexey Sukonkin said that the winter months should not become an obstacle for the Russian Armed Forces to launch a large-scale offensive in Ukraine as part of a special military operation, if such a decision is made.
In this regard, he recalled the Finnish War, when the Red Army, despite the severe frost, broke through one of the best defensive lines of Mannerheim at that time.
“The Russian Armed Forces took control of Soledar at the end of January 2023,” the expert also said interview News.ru, adding that there was a severe cold then.
Sukonkin explained that for a winter offensive it is important to organize at the proper level the supply of troops with fuel and ammunition, as well as to provide the soldiers with warm uniforms.
“I assume that we will really launch a large-scale offensive in the winter,” the expert expressed his opinion, noting that this will most likely be followed by powerful attacks with missile systems with the involvement of the Navy, as well as air strikes and long-range artillery. And then the Ground Forces will go ahead.
