The Federal Passenger Company (FPK, a subsidiary of Russian Railways) has presented a new interior design for a sleeping car (CB) of increased comfort for long-distance trains. It is assumed that the shelves will be located one above the other, the concept of an “adjacent” compartment is also provided – two adjacent compartments are united by a door, but it can be blocked.
The presentation took place on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. According to the FPC project, the SV coupe is equipped with upper berths increased in width, a folding seat, individual safes, a table with a built-in sink, a ladder to the second berth with an extended handrail, multimedia system screens.
“The project proposes to use a new interior layout with a different layout of seats – vertical, in which the shelves in the NE are located one above the other (now opposite each other.— “b”). The concept of an “adjacent” compartment has also been implemented, in which two adjacent compartments are interconnected by a door,” the FPC said (quote from RIA Novosti). By the end of the year, FPC expects to receive about 30 SV cars with a new interior.
