A Su-30 fighter jet of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) escorted a US Air Force MQ-9A Reaper reconnaissance drone over the Black Sea, informs press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Initially, as they said in the department, the means of observation saw an air target approaching the Russian border, then the crew of the raised Su-30 identified it as an American reconnaissance drone.

“When a Russian fighter aircraft approached, a foreign reconnaissance UAV performed a U-turn from the state border of the Russian Federation,” the report says.

As a result, the Russian plane returned to its base airfield, no violation of the border was allowed.

On August 22, two US MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and strike drones and a Turkish-made TV2 Bayraktar operational-tactical drone were spotted over the Black Sea. UAVs were collecting data in the area of ​​the Crimean peninsula. In order to stop the violation of the state border of Russia, two fighters from the air defense forces on duty took off into the sky. After that, the drones changed their flight direction and left the air reconnaissance areas.
