According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, decisions on operational issues, including a possible counteroffensive, should be made by the Ukrainian military, who are on the ground. The head of NATO explained that they “have the best command of the situation.”
He added that the alliance continues to provide Ukraine with the equipment, ammunition and intelligence necessary to launch new offensives.
“The task of the allies is to provide the necessary assistance, as well as to provide high-level training so that the Ukrainians have the opportunity to use all the new, more modern weapons. First of all, this concerns battle tanks,” Stoltenberg said.
NATO Secretary General refused to predict the outcome of Ukraine’s counter-offensive, announced by the Ukrainian military leadership for April-May.
