NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that he is now “very cautious in predicting the development of the situation at the front.” The words were spoken in Brussels before the start of a meeting of the foreign ministers of the alliance countries.

Stoltenberg added that “wars are by nature unpredictable.”

Ukrainian journalists asked the head of NATO whether he expected the Ukrainian army to succeed “in the foreseeable future.”

The day before, Stoltenberg reported that during a meeting of NATO foreign ministers, recommendations for Ukraine on the issue of membership in the bloc would be agreed upon. In particular, the parameters of reforms that Ukraine needs to carry out will be determined. At the same time, he emphasized that the allies agree that Ukraine cannot become a NATO member at a time when military operations are ongoing on its territory.
