NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on South Korea to provide military assistance to Ukraine. He said this during a speech in Seoul.
“I thank South Korea for the humanitarian and economic support that you are already providing to Ukraine. I also urge Korea to step up support, move forward, including military support,” he said.
Stoltenberg pointed out that some NATO countries that had never previously supplied arms to other states in conflict have now changed their policies. As an example, he cited Norway, Germany and a candidate for joining the alliance, Sweden.
At the same time, South Korean President Yun Suk-yeol said that under the current legislation, Seoul cannot provide military assistance to the parties to the armed conflict.
