State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus commented on the incident with the rocket

The probability of a Ukrainian missile accidentally hitting the territory of Belarus is low, declared State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic Alexander Volfovich in an interview with Sputnik Belarus.

“Kyiv seeks to provoke a regional conflict by any means. The Ukrainian side does not have enough war on its territory. An example of this is the recent incident with the destruction of the Ukrainian S-300 missile. We will find out the reason for her arrival on our territory. But there is very little guarantee that she flew to us by accident. Apparently, someone’s plan is being implemented here, ”Volfovich said.

Earlier today, the head of the anti-aircraft troops of Belarus, Colonel Kirill Kazantsev declaredthat a deliberate provocation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine is considered as one of the versions of the incident related to the fallen Ukrainian rocket on the territory of the republic. Another version is “an unintentional launch of an anti-aircraft guided missile due to low training of the crew or a malfunction of the missile,” he said.

December 29 Agency “BelTA” reportedthat a Ukrainian rocket fell on the territory of Belarus in the morning between 10:00 and 11:00. As a result of the incident, according to preliminary data, no one was injured. Later the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reportedthat this missile was shot down by an air defense system (AD). The defense ministry also clarified that during the verification activities, it was previously established that the wreckage belonged to the S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile fired from the territory of Ukraine.

Because of the incident with the missile of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus called Ambassador of Ukraine Igor Kizim, demanding that Kyiv conduct a thorough investigation into all the circumstances of the incident and take comprehensive measures to prevent a recurrence of this in the future. The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine declaredthat Kyiv is ready to investigate the aforementioned incident. The Ukrainian side is also ready to invite authoritative experts who are not connected “with the support of the Russian Federation.”
