State Duma ratifies treaties on new territories on October 3

Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said that on Monday, October 3, the lower house of parliament will consider drafts on the ratification of agreements on the inclusion of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into Russia.

“On Monday, we will consider amendments to constitutional laws, as well as the ratification of international treaties that have been announced, and we will be engaged in the formation of a legal framework,” Mr. Volodin said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin (quoted by TASS).

30 September President Vladimir Putin signed agreements on the entry of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia. The decision was made following the results of referendums held from 23 to 27 September. October 2 Constitutional Court acknowledged treaties on the accession of the four regions corresponding to the Constitution.
