State Duma deputy Novichkov asked the Ministry of Justice to liquidate Yabloko

State Duma deputy Nikolai Novichkov (“A Just Russia is for Truth”) suggested that the Ministry of Justice consider the possibility of liquidating Yabloko because of the party’s election program and public speeches by politicians. According to Mr. Novichkov, the political goals and actions of Yabloko “possibly have signs of extremist activity.” The letter of the deputy to the Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuichenko leads RTVI.

In the document, Nikolai Novichkov criticizes Yabloko’s position on Russia’s annexation of new regions, as well as in relation to the Russian armed forces and the goals of the military operation in Ukraine. Among other things, he mentions the call to “transfer Donbass under the full control of Ukraine,” which, according to the deputy, can “contribute to the continuation of violence in new Russian regions.”

“In essence, the program provisions of the party should probably be regarded as a manifestation of political terrorism,” the letter says.

Since the beginning of the military operation, four members of Yabloko have become defendants in criminal cases related to the military operation (under articles about fakes about the army and discredit). 10 party activists served administrative arrests, 22 searches were carried out, 40 protocols of discrediting were drawn up against 32 party members, the amount of fines exceeded 2 million rubles. Statistics are given on the Yabloko website. The party notes that it stands for peace between Russia and Ukraine.

Today, March 7, the faction of the party “Yabloko” reported, which submitted to the Moscow City Duma a draft resolution on amnesty, involving the termination of cases under Art. 207.3 (fakes about the army), 280.3 (discrediting the armed forces), 284.2 (calls for sanctions against Russia) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
