State Duma deputy Nikonov proposed to recognize the slave trade of the West as genocide

Vyacheslav Nikonov, First Deputy Head of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, expressed the view that the slave trade, which Western countries have been engaged in for many centuries, should be recognized as genocide, the press service of the United Russia faction reports.

In the same context, the deputy mentioned the murders of the Soviet people by the German invaders during the Great Patriotic War, US war crimes and the extermination of the Chinese population by Japan.

The decision on the issue of recognizing these actions as genocide can be made by the parliament after coordinating it with the Russian Foreign Ministry, Nikonov said.
