The head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov said that Russia is on the verge of resuming air traffic with Georgia.

According to Kalashnikov, in the course of communication with Georgian officials, the deputy touched upon such “sensitive” issues as air travel and the abolition of visas in Russia.

Nevertheless, the deputy could not give any guarantees that the issues discussed by them could be implemented in the near future.

Recall that the chairman of the ruling party of Georgia “Georgian Dream” Irakli Kobakhidze called for the resumption of air traffic with Russia. According to Kobakhidze, Georgia will only be happy if the Russian Federation decides to take this step. In addition, the chairman of the “Georgian Dream” reminded that air traffic with Georgia was stopped precisely at the initiative of Russia.
