State Duma deputy Dmitry Khubezov will go to the special operation zone as a doctor

Secretary of the United Russia General Council Andrey Turchak said that deputy Dmitry Khubezov officially resigned as head of the State Duma committee on health protection, he will soon go to the special operation zone in Ukraine. Mr. Khubezov submitted documents to the military commissariat of the Kuntsevsky district of Moscow.
“He returns to his people, with whom he worked in Mariupol and Lisichansk, in field hospitals on the front line. Dima was one of the first to travel to the Donbass with detachments of medical volunteers when United Russia launched a humanitarian mission in the territories liberated at that time. Then he went to serve,” Mr. Turchak wrote in his Telegram channel.
In a video posted by Andrey Turchak, Dmitry Khubezov announced that he would take the position of platoon commander of the marshalling facility. “We will deal with the treatment of fighters directly at the front line,” the deputy said.
Mr. Khubezov is a professional surgeon, board member of the Russian Society of Colorectal Surgeons. From October 2022 to January 2023, he served as a military medic in one of the military units in the Lisichansk-Severodonetsk agglomeration under a volunteer contract.
On the decision to resign Dmitry Khubezov informed at a meeting of the General Council of United Russia on May 31. He said that, leaving the special operation zone, he promised that he would return if it was difficult for the doctors. The State Duma approved his resignation on June 13. Mr. Khubezov recommended his deputy Badma Bashankaev for the vacant position.
