The leadership of the military department was the second appointment since the beginning of the special military operation. Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev has been appointed Deputy Defense Minister responsible for the logistics of the Armed Forces. He replaced General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov in this position. Earlier, Viktor Goremykin was appointed new Deputy Minister – Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate, who replaced Colonel General Gennady Zhidko in this post.

General Bulgakov has been in charge of the rear since 2008. He was appointed to this position under the former Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov. Under his leadership, several million tons of old ammunition were then disposed of.

Colonel-General Mizintsev, before his new appointment, was the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation. Has combat experience. He led a group of troops during a special operation in the Mariupol direction.

Commenting on this appointment, State Duma Deputy Lieutenant-General Andrei Gurulev called it “an extremely joyful event”, which he “was waiting for a very long time and is incredibly happy about.”

“I don’t want to talk about my predecessor. I can’t do anything good, I don’t want anything bad. I think oblivion will be the best for him,” Gurulev said.

According to him, Mizintsev is “a real man, a tadpole, a clever one.”

“Finally, our rear will be put in order so that we won’t go around later and be ashamed that we lack something,” the deputy concluded.

In turn, military reporter Alexander Sladkov, who is often at the forefront, left the following entry in his Telegram channel: “My personal opinion: Mizintsev is an intellectual and an excellent logistician who absolutely knows all the needs of our native Defense Ministry. Everything has to move.”

Mikhail Mizintsev was born on September 10, 1962 in the village of Averinskaya, Syamzhensky district, Vologda region. He graduated from the Kalinin Suvorov Military School (1980), the Kiev Higher Combined Arms Command School (1984), the Frunze Military Academy (1996).

He served as commander of a reconnaissance platoon, reconnaissance company of a tank regiment in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany, commander of a motorized rifle battalion (mountain) in the Transcaucasian military district, head of the group of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff, chief of the operational directorate – deputy chief of staff of the Southern Military District, head of the Central Command Post of the General Staff.

He was awarded the orders “For Merit to the Fatherland” III degree, 15th degree with the image of swords, orders of Alexander Nevsky, Zhukov, Honor, “For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR” III degree.
