State Duma deputies were required to take a PCR test for COVID-19 on January 15, they reported “Vedomosti” with reference to two parliamentarians. On January 16, the first plenary meeting of the State Duma of the spring session is due to take place.
On January 9, after the end of the New Year holidays, deputies began their regional week. The plenary sessions, which begin on January 16, will take place over two weeks. Then parliamentarians will again work in the regions.
In November at Rospotrebnadzor reported about a new wave of COVID-19 cases. In the first week of 2024, according to the operational headquarters, 3,086 people with coronavirus were hospitalized – 49% less than in the last week of last year. In total, 25,922 cases were identified in early January.
After the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, people were allowed into the State Duma only if they had a QR code (for those who had recovered from the virus or had passed the test). In 2022, this requirement, and then the mask regime, was abolished. Later, the remaining restrictions regarding the admission of journalists to the State Duma building were also lifted.
