State Duma Committee on Health Protection headed by Badma Bashankaev

The State Duma Committee on Health Protection was headed by Badma Bashankaev. About it reported in the lower house of parliament.

They clarified that the decision to appoint Bashankayev as chairman of the committee was adopted by the deputies unanimously.

The former head of the committee, Dmitry Khubezov, announced his intention to leave the post on May 31 at a meeting of the United Russia General Council. He explained his decision by his desire to volunteer for a special operation in Ukraine.

After the start of mobilization, Khubezov worked in a military hospital near Lisichansk. “Now there is nothing more important than protecting our country on the battlefield. When I left for the first time [из зоны боевых действий], I promised that I would come when they called me to the battlefield. Our children are sitting in the trenches, they are giving their lives. I have to be there, ”Khubezov said.

The interlocutor of Vedomosti, close to Khubezov, toldthat the deputy had long discussed the possibility of resigning as chairman of the committee, but it was necessary to complete the work. Another source in the State Duma explained that in this case it was an “instrumental victory” for the speaker of the lower house, Vyacheslav Volodin.

Bashankaev was born in 1978. Prior to his appointment as chairman, he was deputy head of the committee. Graduated from the Moscow Medical Academy named after I.M. Sechenov and a number of specialized educational institutions. Elected to the State Duma in the 15th constituency (Republic of Kalmykia). October 2022 reportedthat the deputy voluntarily mobilized into the ranks of the Russian army in order to provide medical assistance to servicemen.
