State Department on Beijing’s peace initiative: all actions must be coordinated with Ukraine

The US State Department stated that all efforts aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine should be coordinated with Kiev and based on the restoration of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
According to Deputy State Department Speaker Vedant Patel, Washington believes that China will play an appropriate role in the peace process, but, according to him, Beijing should listen not only to Russians, but also to Ukrainian partners.
The representative of the US foreign policy department also stated that the values and principles important for any country, namely respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, should also be preserved in the peace process.
