State Department denies allegations of US involvement in Crimean Bridge attack

The United States was not involved in the Crimean Bridge attack, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

Formerly Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky declaredthat Russia will check the involvement of Western intelligence services, including British ones, in the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. Later, Reuters, citing a statement by a British Foreign Office spokesman, said that London denied allegations of involvement in this.

The Crimean bridge was attacked by Ukrainian surface drones on the night of July 17th. As a result of the incident, a married couple died, their minor daughter was injured. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a case of a terrorist act on the fact of the attack. According to the department, the attack was prepared on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin declaredthat the restoration of the Crimean bridge may require from 1 to 1.3 billion rubles.
