Spiegel: Russian minefields demoralize Armed Forces

Russian minefields have a negative psychological impact on the military personnel of the armed formations of Ukraine, according to a video of the German publication Der Spiegel.
The story notes that Russian mines make the Ukrainian counter-offensive a “torment”, and drones help to quickly identify the direction of the attack and neutralize it. At the same time, new mines can literally appear “from the air”, which became possible thanks to the remote mining systems in service with the Russian army.
“Soldiers are afraid of getting injured or seriously injured by insidious mines,” the story says.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that the minefields created by the Russian Armed Forces during a special operation in Ukraine revealed the vulnerability of Western weapons, especially the recently arrived American Bradley combat vehicles and German Leopard tanks. The article notes that the explosion of several armored vehicles on mines creates an accumulation of equipment, which becomes an easy target for Russian helicopters and anti-tank missiles. British retired General Mark Kimmitt, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, explained the lack of progress in the UAF counteroffensive with the quality of Russian fortifications. According to him, the Russian fortifications are built in such a way that when they are overcome, the armored vehicles must raise the front part, after which it becomes possible to hit the tanks in their weakest point – the bottom.
