The axiom, known to true connoisseurs of perfumery, with the onset of frost can be repeated like a mantra: “as soon as the weather gets cool, your perfume should become warm.” What does it mean? Spicy, tart, smoky flavors add a sense of coziness, while gourmet or even olfactory versions of hot punch, cognac or whiskey warm up just as well as their single malt counterparts. Winter fragrances are primarily fragrances with notes of woody iris, incense, musk, patchouli, vanilla, coffee, myrrh and amber, all those that create coziness and intimacy, like a good cashmere sweater.
