Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the annual expanded meeting of the Board of the Russian Interior Ministry. About it informed Kremlin press office.

Putin called for more effective control over the migration situation in the country, since this is of fundamental importance for Russia’s national security. In this regard, the president proposed that all administrative procedures related to migration should be digitized as much as possible and made more accessible.

“Greater transparency of administrative procedures will certainly make it possible to ensure more effective control over the migration situation in the country, which is of fundamental importance for national security. Taking into account the long-term interests and tasks of the country’s development, it is important to take a comprehensive look at the problem of migration,” he said.

In this regard, Putin instructed to submit comprehensive proposals for the development of migration policy by July 1, as well as to work out these issues with the regions.

The initiation of criminal cases against entrepreneurs in the absence of judicial prospects will destabilize the situation, Putin said. In this regard, the president instructed “to control the validity of initiating criminal cases against entrepreneurs.”

“Often it is already clear from the outset that the matter [в отношении предпринимателей] does not have a judicial perspective, then it is not necessary to start it. We are simply destabilizing the work of entire workforces of enterprises, which is absolutely unacceptable, I draw your attention,” Putin stressed. According to him, any investigation of economic crimes should not interfere with the work of enterprises and become “the cause of the collapse of labor collectives.”

Putin proposed the use of alternative preventive measures, including house arrest, travel ban, bail and any other punishments that are not actually related to the restriction of freedom.

At the same time, it is necessary to stop the use of illegal shadow schemes and theft of budget funds that were allocated for the implementation of the state defense order, the implementation of national projects, import substitution and business support programs, etc.

The President stressed the need to provide the new units with modern special equipment and communication facilities. Putin said that it is necessary to solve the problems of the inhabitants of the new regions of Russia as soon as possible.

According to the head of state, every person in the annexed regions “should feel protected by the law, be confident in the timely assistance of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.” In this regard, he urged to organize the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in such a way that all issues are resolved in a short time.

Among the positive changes that took place in 2022, Putin noted an increase in the level of detection of crimes, “more active work to ensure road safety, order on the streets and in places of mass stay of citizens, in transport”, as well as the suppression of attempts by “radicals to destabilize public – the political situation. The President also drew attention to the fact that in ten years the death rate on the roads has halved.

At the same time, the number of extremist crimes increased in 2022, Putin noted. According to him, any attempts to spread extremist ideology should be promptly suppressed along with any attempts to “rock” society.

The head of state also drew attention to the growth of crimes using information technology, the number of which exceeded 0.5 million and accounted for a quarter of all criminal offenses.

In general, Putin assessed the results of the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2022 as positive. “In conclusion, I want to thank the leadership and all employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their conscientious work.
