Employees of the FSB and the Investigative Committee in the Urals and the North Caucasus stopped the activities of a group of supporters of the international terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS) banned in Russia, who were transporting militants to Syria and Ukraine, write RIA Novosti with reference to the press services of the FSB and the Investigative Committee.
It is specified that this group of 19 people has existed since 2010. They were engaged in “resource supply to an international terrorist organization”, that is, they transported Russians to Syria and Ukraine “to participate in hostilities against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”, and also financed terrorism.
At the moment, 11 people have been detained, including the organizer and 10 community members. The remaining eight have been put on the international wanted list.
During the searches, computers with photo and video materials about their participation in hostilities in Syria in the ranks of a terrorist organization, as well as in nationalist military units in Ukraine, were confiscated from the members of the group.
