A special economic zone with preferential treatment will appear on the territory of the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe agglomeration. This was announced by the head of the Amur region Vasily Orlov.

“I invited businessmen to invest in our cities. For them, on the territory of the agglomeration, which will include Heihe, Blagoveshchensk and nearby villages (Chigiri, Verkhneblagoveshchenskoye and others), we will create a special economic zone with a preferential regime,” wrote Mr. Orlov in the Telegram channel.

Vasily Orlov added that the creation of the zone provides for the master plan of Blagoveshchensk. According to him, in September the document will be submitted for approval to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Blagoveshchensk-Heihe is the largest cross-border agglomeration of the Russian Federation. On the Russian side, it includes the cities of Blagoveshchensk and the villages of Kanikurgan, Chigiri and Verkhneblagoveshchenskoye, and on the Chinese side, the Aihui region. The zone has a visa-free regime for Russian citizens. Previously, there were no similar cross-border special economic zones in Russia, it follows from the data on website Ministry of Economy.
