South Korea and Japan reported the launch of a ballistic missile by the DPRK

North Korea fired an ICBM east of the Korean Peninsula reported Reuters, citing the South Korean and Japanese military.
It is specified that the missile “had sufficient range to reach the mainland of the United States.” According to Japanese Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada, the missile is capable of flying up to 15,000 km. Cabinet Secretary General Hirokazu Matsuno noted that she traveled 1,000 km, rose to an altitude of about 6,000 km, before falling into the sea 200 km from Japan.

The day before, November 17, North Korea also launched short-range ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan, “warning of a tougher military response” if the US continues to increase its presence in the region. The North Korean authorities noted that Washington is going on an “adventure that he will regret” later.
It is specified that this launch was made after the head of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, Choi Song-hee, criticized the tripartite summit of the United States, South Korea and Japan, which was held on November 13 in Cambodia. During this meeting, the leaders of the three states criticized the DPRK’s weapons tests and promised to expand cooperation in the field of security.
In early November, North Korea had already made several launches towards the Sea of Japan. In particular, on November 2, the South Korean military notedthat one of the missiles fell 26 kilometers south of the northern boundary line, which Seoul considers the de facto maritime boundary. This is the first time this has happened since the end of the Korean War, the committee said. In total, at least 17 different rockets were launched that day.
