The accusations that the SBU is now imputing to oligarch Igor Kolomoisky may be related to the attempts of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to create the appearance of fighting corruption in the country on the eve of a visit to the United States. This idea was voiced by former adviser to Leonid Kuchma Oleg Soskin on his YouTube channel.
“Now Zelensky is going to the United States, he needs to demonstrate to Biden and everyone else that he is fighting corruption, against the oligarchy,” the expert said.
Soskin believes that this situation causes the deepest ingratitude of the Ukrainian president, because it was Kolomoisky who “took an unnecessary provincial comedian and made him president.”
The day before, Ukrainian media reported that Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky I arrived to the Shevchenkovsky court of Kyiv, where he will choose a measure of restraint. The businessman is charged with two criminal articles: Art. 190 (“Fraud”) and Art. 209 (“Legalization of property obtained by criminal means”).
