The fighters of the Western Military District (ZVO), together with units of the 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division, stopped the attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to break through on the eve of the New Year on the Kremensky sector of the front, RIA Novosti reports from the scene.
Russian troops, as one of the soldiers of the Western Military District told the agency, “carried out defensive actions in the area of the settlement of Kremennaya.” According to the interlocutor, the Armed Forces of Ukraine tried to break through the defense, in which the Western Military District participated in cooperation with the Pskov paratroopers.
During one of the attacks, the Ukrainian military used more than 80 people and about 7 armored vehicles. This offensive attempt was stopped thanks to the actions of artillery, tanks and aircraft.
According to the source of this information, as a result of an unsuccessful attack, Ukrainian troops lost more than 50 people and 5 pieces of equipment.
