According to the results of the first quarter of this year, the production of computer equipment and electronics in Moscow increased by 20.7%, informed Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in the Telegram channel.
“In Moscow, more than 100 companies are engaged in the production of computer equipment and electronics. In the first quarter of 2023, this high-tech industrial direction in the capital grew by 20.7%,” he wrote.
Sobyanin pointed to an active increase in the production of both finished products and components by local factories due to the growing demand for domestic developments. Enterprises create motherboards, system blocks, monitors, equipment for automated fare collection – terminals, validators, etc.
In 2022, Sobyanin continued, in the special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow” a cluster of photonics and microelectronics was created. More than 30 Technopolis enterprises operate in the microelectronics industry. “The status of SEZ residents gives them a number of benefits. For example, it exempts for 10 years from property, transport and land taxes,” the mayor of the capital added.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his greetings to the participants of the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) declaredthat the country needs to focus on achieving technological and financial sovereignty, using new opportunities. Last summer, the head of state pointed outthat the withdrawal of foreign companies from the Russian market will allow the country to get rid of the “dangerous and humiliating dependence” on Western technologies.
