The small missile ship “Askold” of the Russian Navy destroyed an unmanned boat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Black Sea on the morning of September 15, reported Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

“This morning, the small missile ship Askold of the Black Sea Fleet discovered an unmanned boat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Black Sea,” the statement said.

The fire was fired at the boat from the ship’s standard weapons, the Ministry of Defense added.

The launching ceremony of the Askold took place in September 2021. The ship became the second Project 22800 ship built at the shipyard in Kerch after the Cyclone. The small missile ship “Samum” is part of the 41st brigade of missile boats of the Crimean naval base of the Black Sea Fleet. It was put into operation in 2000.
