The labeling system operator Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) compensates 50% of all costs for labeling equipment for small brewers with a capacity of up to 300,000 decaliters per year. This was reported by the press service of the CRPT.
From 2022, the excise tax on beer is set at 24 rubles. per 1 liter for drinks with a strength of 0.5% to 8.6%. There is a zero rate for non-alcoholic beer. In 2023–2024, excise tax indexation is provided for 1 ruble. annually. According to the center, the share of small brewers in the Russian market is about 90%. The CRPT noted that the cost of introducing labeling for small breweries starts from 21 thousand rubles.
Among other measures to support the industry, the operator will provide companies with a three-year installment plan for equipment – in the first year without payments and with annual payments in equal installments thereafter. CRPT also said that it has created a warehouse for marking equipment and consumables, which stores 10,000 units of products for all market participants.
Yesterday, November 30, the government of the Russian Federation decided introduce mandatory labeling of keg-packed beer, including non-alcoholic, from April 1, 2023, and from October 1 next year, labeling standards will apply to beer in glass and polymer packages.
The government also instructed the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy to prepare proposals for tax breaks for brewers. Companies can receive a deduction when paying excise taxes.
