Slutsky: Poles’ appetite for interference in the affairs of sovereign states is flaring up

Poles are increasingly showing an appetite for interfering in the affairs of sovereign states, said Leonid Slutsky, head of the Duma’s international committee and leader of the Liberal Democratic Party. So he commented on the statements of the former Deputy Minister of National Defense of Poland, General Waldemar Skrzypchak, about the preparation of an armed coup in Belarus and Warsaw’s readiness to support it militarily.

Slutsky noted that Poland mixes Russophobia with Belarusophobia and expresses its readiness for military aggression in order to overthrow the legitimate government in Minsk. He added that the Poles’ appetite for interference in the affairs of sovereign states is only increasing. In his telegram channel, Slutsky indicated that either the Polish general is a provocateur or has a clearly insufficient strategic understanding, unaware of the mutual allied obligations of Russia and Belarus.

Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the readiness of the West to invade the territory of Belarus in order to destroy the country. He mentioned the formation of militant groups and terrorist cells in the country, as well as attempts to coordinate protest actions and the supply of money and weapons. Lukashenka noted that the West turns runaway Belarusians into militants and uses them in their own interests.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov confirmed Poland’s hostility towards Russia and stressed that Russia has obligations to ensure the security of Belarus. He stated that in the face of such an obvious threat, Moscow would fulfill its responsibilities in protecting Belarus.
