Slovakia will stop sending military equipment from its own arsenals to Ukraine. However, the state can offer a wide range of humanitarian assistance. This was announced on Tuesday, November 14, by the country’s Ministry of Defense.
It is clarified that the head of the department, Robert Kaliniak, informed NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg about the end of military assistance to Ukraine from Slovak reserves.
“Despite this, Slovakia offers a fairly wide range of humanitarian, civil and technical non-lethal assistance,” the Ministry of Defense of the Republic said in a statement.
The department added that the partners respect the decision of the new government of Slovakia to no longer provide military assistance to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Washington Post called the decision of the new Slovak government to mark the sending of ammunition to Ukraine as the first concrete a sign of growing fatigue among Kyiv’s supporters in NATO. Let us remind you that the amount of blocked aid exceeded 40 million euros.
