SIPRI: Russia for the first time dropped to 3rd place in the world in arms exports
The Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has published a report on the global arms trade for the period 2019 to 2023. TASS reports this.
According to the document, European countries have almost doubled their arms purchases. At the same time, the United States increased military sales by 17%, and arms exports from Russia fell by almost half.
According to the report, Russia for the first time took third place in the ranking of the largest arms exporters according to SIPRI, losing second place to France.
According to the SIPRI report, Russian military exports fell by 53%, and their share of global totals was 11%. If in 2019 major weapons from Russia were sold to 31 countries, then by 2022 this number decreased to 14, and by 2023 to 12.
