Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that since 2020, the cost of living in the country has increased by 36.7%. The figure exceeded the inflation rate by 6.4% over the same period, she added. From 2024, the cost of living in Russia is 15,453 rubles. per capita.
“From January 1 of this year, the minimum wage has been increased by 18.5% and amounts to 19,242 rubles – this is 14.2% higher than the subsistence level of the working population,” Ms. Golikova said at the XII Congress of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (quoted from “Interfax”).
From 2024, the cost of living for the working population is 16,844 rubles, for pensioners – 13,290 rubles, for children – 14,989 rubles. The cost of living is set once a year.
