Supporting the special operation participants and strengthening Russia’s defense capabilities are budget priorities. The planned resources will be sufficient to support all the tasks of the special operation. This was stated by Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.
“The first priority, and we talked about this, is strengthening the country’s defense capability and supporting participants in the special military operation,” Siluanov emphasized.
The resources planned for the next year make it possible to fully meet the objectives of the special military operation, including the supply of weapons, military equipment, logistics and social support for military personnel. The total amount of spending on national defense will be 10.8 trillion rubles. – higher than in 2023
“Yes, this is a large amount in the current budget structure, but we need this money to solve the most important task today – the task of ensuring victory and ensuring the resolution of issues that are taken into account during the implementation of a special military operation,” the minister clarified.
The budget also took into account allocations for the technical re-equipment of the defense industry. The volume of resources was determined jointly with the law enforcement agencies and takes into account “the need to achieve the tasks and goals set by the president,” Siluanov summed up.
September 29 government contributed to the State Duma the draft federal budget for 2024 and the planning period of 2025 and 2026. The largest areas of spending that planned government for 2024 – national economy (10.7%), social policy (21.1%) and national defense (29.3%).
