The Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that the enterprise experienced a violation of the technological process with subsequent burning. There is no threat of fire spread. Firefighters were involved in the third rank of fire, but did not perform any work.
The company said that on the morning of September 5, the production of ethylene oxide and glycols was routinely stopped. The reason was a decrease in the supply of oxygen and technical gases by an external supplier. For a short period of time, the flare unit was switched to the intensive smoky combustion mode, which is provided for by the current technological regulations.
After the resumption of the supply of products in full, production will resume work. The state of atmospheric air is being monitored at the borders of the sanitary protection zone, the results will be published on the official website of the enterprise.
