Shurygin explained the national background of Zelensky’s military personnel decisions

Relies on “Judas generals”

Zelensky continued to purge his senior military personnel. Following Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny, Chief of the Ukrainian General Staff Sergei Shaptala lost his post and was replaced by Anatoly Bargilevich. Military expert Vladislav Shurygin analyzed Zelensky’s new nominees and noticed one characteristic oddity: the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, and the deputy chief of the general staff, Sergei Naev, have Russian roots.

As Vladislav Shurygin noted in his Telegram channel, two generals who “have purely Ukrainian roots and a purely Ukrainian military history” have been removed from the top leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

At the same time, the new commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky and the deputy chief of the general staff – the head of the joint operational headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the commander of the joint forces operation Sergei Naev “have a Russian and Russian background.”

According to Shurygin, the logic of Zelensky’s personnel decisions most likely lies in the fact that both of these generals, who betrayed Russia, will “go out of their way to prove their loyalty to “Ukraine.”

But at the same time, the expert notes, they will cause great irritation among “Svidomo” Ukrainians, like the half-crazy Lviv resident Farion. “The “stranger” effect,” notes Vladislav Shurygin, “is beneficial to us in its own way, because it will not allow both of them to be completely objective in critical situations. They will always have to prove that they are more “Ukrainian” than the most generous Ukrainians. But in war this is fraught with serious problems… And in this sense, replacing the “reinforced concrete” Ukrainian Zaluzhny with the “Moscow native” Syrsky is a blow to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

Ambassador Rodion Miroshnik also believes that General Syrsky is more convenient for Zelensky, but now responsibility for failures at the front will fall directly on Zelensky. “Syrsky is certainly more convenient for Zelensky,” Miroshnik noted in his channel, “he is more tame and just as he thoughtlessly disposed of the VSUshnikov near Artemovsk while Zelensky was talking about the “Bakhmut fort,” he will continue to do so out of his, Zelensky’s, political expediency as long as there are shells and mobiles.”

At the same time, Miroshnik and Zaluzhny and Zelensky will not escape the dock. “Well, perhaps they will sit on the same bench, but through a partition,” he concluded.
