Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited the military involved in the special operation in Ukraine, who are being treated at the Central Military Clinical Hospital named after A.A. Vishnevsky of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was reported on Sunday in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Shoigu presented state awards to the military, including the Order of Courage, the Suvorov and For Courage medals. He noted that all the awardees had adequately fulfilled their military duty, thanked them for their service and wished them a speedy recovery.
The Minister stressed that the rapid evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield is the main factor for saving their lives. He noted that due to the rapid evacuation, there is now the largest number of military survivors in the history of various wars and operations.
“The doctors are great – they work very well and quickly on the spot,” Shoigu said. He added that doctors “somewhere use aviation, somewhere vehicles.”
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the hospital, and also presented awards to the participants of the SVO and talked with the military.
